Paul Humphreys dishes on new O.M.D., new electronic artists

With Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark still working on new 2010 album The History of Modern, member Paul Humphreys has done an illuminating interview with the good folks at The Electricity Club. In the interview he waxes eliquent about the new O.M.D. album, and interestingly about a number of new electronic artists like Little Boots and La Roux (in many cases he’s not just “not a fan” but downright cynical about how devoted they are to the electronic cause). He describes the new album as “Electronic! Really electronic!” and puts into great perspective what working with Stephen Hague did – for a long time irreparably – to their sound confirming a theory Softsynth has voiced for a number of years. It’s fascinating stuff from an electronic pioneer and makes one just a snitch more excited about the new and long, long overdue album…
